An easy-to-use platform for global growth

PSH, a leading supplier of starter motors and alternators, had one clear brief: "Make ordering our products as simple as possible for our customers. And for ourselves." The existing webshop was not living up to expectations, so orders were processed too slowly. With our new platform, designed from the customer's point of view, PSH can now work much faster and more efficiently.

Fewer barriers to ordering

"What delivered results for PSH straight away was how quickly we built an API. That removed a number of barriers to ordering immediately," says Dennis van den Broek, director of Indicia Interactiv. "The API that lets PSH's ERP system and its customers talk to each other simplified the order process before work on the webshop had even started."

Complexity, simply managed

PSH supplies more than 12,000 different starter motors, alternators, air conditioning compressors and related parts from many global brands (Bosch, Valeo, Mahle) to wholesalers and buying groups. Distribution runs from warehouses in several countries, and PSH also has its own product line. That complex logistics and the calculation of transport costs were a real challenge. But the API solutions made that complexity manageable and made it available through the API, for PSH and for their customers alike.

A good working relationship with ERP partner Abstract-IT

We worked closely with PSH's ERP partner Abstract-IT to build the new shop. "We found that collaboration professional and constructive," says Martijn. "The good communication with Abstract-IT allowed us to build a high-quality API that keeps information flowing smoothly between the shop, the ERP systems and the website," Dennis adds. "That means PSH gets much more out of their ERP system."

Serious computing power

Ease of use was central to building the webshop. The platform offers practical features, such as placing large orders quickly and calculating transport costs, even across borders. A powerful back end with serious computing power keeps those processes running smoothly. "We now have a platform that fits the way we run the business, so we work more efficiently and respond better to what our customers want" (Martijn Giezen, CFO PSH Group).

Importing order files directly

One important feature of the platform is that wholesalers can import order files directly. That replaces the time-consuming business of filling shopping baskets and makes ordering far more efficient; phone orders are a thing of the past. "As well as a functional shop and direct ordering, Indicia widened our sales channels with a connection to the aftermarket platform TecCom. That integration also helps us offer our products more efficiently, and so helps us deliver on our growth ambitions."
